Fresh, Airy Spare Bedroom
A dumping-ground spare room turned calm guest bedroom and double workspace, on a three-figure budget with clever DIY.

The story
Both clients worked from home, so the spare room had become a dumping ground. They wanted it fresh, airy, bright and calm. We went back to Charlotte’s Scandi roots with a touch of Tulum, using linen, untreated pine, hemp, glass and metal.
The rattan headboard was made from an IKEA Ivar leg, rattan and a nail gun for £60 (versus £170+ to buy), the bedside lights were built from scratch, and the hanging bedside table is a chopping board on hemp rope.
